Breakthroughs Were Made In The Integration Of Hydrogen Production And Hydrogenation

The Shanghai Municipality recently issued the Regulations on Lingang New Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, encouraging the integrated construction of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling from renewable energy sources. The reporter learned that the integration of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling is regarded as an effective way to promote the utilization of hydrogen and reduce the cost and solve the problem of hydrogen shortage in some areas. In recent years, China has made breakthroughs in the standard formulation and actual implementation of the integration of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling.


"Currently, hydrogen sources used in hydrogen refueling stations are generally transported in long-tube trailers. The low density of hydrogen leads to its high transportation cost and high terminal price, which is one of the bottlenecks in the development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicle industry. Taking the price of hydrogen at 40 yuan/kg as an example, the cost of hydrogen production is about 20 yuan/kg, the cost of transportation is about 10 yuan/kg, and the hydrogen refueling station is about 10 yuan/kg. If hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling are combined, the transportation cost will be reduced by about 10 yuan/kg, and the cost of hydrogen production will also be reduced by about 5 yuan/kg, which greatly solves the problem of high cost caused by hydrogen storage and transportation." Peng Xuefeng, chief engineer of Sichuan Boneng Gas Co., LTD., said that the construction of an integrated hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling station for vehicles can achieve self-sufficiency in hydrogen, effectively reduce the cost of hydrogen source for vehicles and reduce the price of hydrogen for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.


The large-scale growth of hydrogen energy applications such as fuel cell vehicles has greatly boosted the demand for hydrogen, and the integrated construction of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling has ushered in more opportunities. Peng Xuefeng said, taking sichuan province as an example, according to the province the hydrogen industry development plan, by 2025 fuel cell vehicles scale will reach 6000 units, various types of filling stations built 60, according to the size of the hydrogen demand will reach 60000 kg/day, at present the province can be directly applied to the fuel cell vehicle hydrogen production capacity of 5000 kg/day.
In March 2016, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the Energy Technology Revolution Innovation Action Plan (2016-2030), which listed the integration of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling as the strategic development direction of technological innovation in the field of hydrogen energy and fuel cell. Many provinces and regions have also issued relevant policies to encourage the integration of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling.




The reporter learned that in 2021, a total of two integrated stations of hydrogen and hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling will be put into operation in Guangdong Province, namely, foshan Nanzhuang integrated station of hydrogen and hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling and Shaoguan Integrated station of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling. Shenzhen has also begun to build an integrated station of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling in Mawan Power Plant.


In terms of standards, In September 2020, The Department of Economy and Information Technology of Sichuan Province issued the Development Plan for Hydrogen Energy Industry of Sichuan Province (2021-2025), which clearly proposed to explore the business model demonstration project of hydrogen refueling stations and carry out the construction of integrated energy stations for hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling. On February 28, guangdong Provincial Technical Committee on Work Safety of Standardization Administration issued a draft of the safety technical specification for hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling integrated station, which is the first local standard in China and may play a demonstration role in the whole country.


"Guangdong province has taken a 'first and first trial' approach in the construction of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling stations, and has given great support in policy approval." Peng introduced that the ongoing construction of a pidu district of Chengdu, Sichuan province's pidu integrated energy demonstration station of hydrogen and hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling also adopts the model of "special events and special events" for approval. He suggested that relevant departments should make it clear as soon as possible that the integrated stations of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling for vehicles belong to "resource and hazardous chemical construction projects supporting other industries" and are not restricted by "hazardous chemical production projects entering chemical parks", so that the integration of hydrogen production and hydrogen refueling can be implemented more quickly.
